The Gareth Bale-Real Madrid saga has become increasingly nasty. Neymar’s desired divorce from PSG isn’t going as he’d hoped. It felt like Barcelona almost reluctantly spent €120 million on Antoine Griezmann, while Chelsea’s transfer embargo has taken a significant club out of the market. Then there’s Tottenham. There have been two notable elements to their business over the summer. Firstly, that they’ve actually signed someone, dipping…

LIVE 🔴►【Today Match】!! ►)))) - ‘Dumbo’ Delivers Spectacle, Dumbed Down Humans

Image
Director Tim Burton always delivers a feast for the senses. Burton’s palette, from the dark purple depths of “Batman” to the gothic “Dark Shadows,” reveals an auteur with few visual peers. His tag team partner, composer Danny Elfman , supplies the sonic pop. Burton and Elfman do it again with “Dumbo,” the live-action reboot of the classic Disney yarn. Only the film’s storytelling demands trip Burton up. Again. It’s no secret that Burton considers narrative a necessary evil … at best. You’d think he set the bar low enough by updating a decades-old cartoon. Nope. The classic “Dumbo” remains the superior product. Once again a baby elephant with massive ears upends the lives of a circus troupe. Danny DeVito’s Max Medici lords over a colorful collection of circus acts. Times are hard, but the gang gets a boost when the misshapen pachyderm takes to the air. Suddenly a freak show becomes the main attraction. The news travels fast despite the lack of Twitter or Snapchat. Enter a mus...

LIVE 🔴►【Today Match】!! ►)))) - Peele’s Left-Leaning ‘Us’ Earns Its Woke Status

Image
No, “Get Out” wasn’t a fluke. Jordan Peele, the funny sketch comic and Obama apologist from “Key & Peele,” stunned virtually everyone with his 2017 directorial debut. Peele isn’t ready to leave the horror genre behind, though, and let’s applaud him straight away for that. And he makes it clear with “Us” that he’s a top-tier talent behind the camera. The film’s third act isn’t as nightmarishly brilliant as we hope, but “Us” is so good for so long it’s easy to forgive and (mostly) forget. The instrumental prologue sets “Us” in motion. A young girl wanders away from her father at a California carnival and gets lost in a creepy fun house. She’s found eventually, but it’s clear this wasn’t an ordinary childhood incident. Flash forward 30-plus years and that girl is now a wife and mother visiting the same place that once rendered her speechless. Adelaide ( Lupita Nyong’o ) and Gabe ( Winston Duke ) take their kids to Santa Cruz for some R&R. The Wilson family also tags a...

LIVE 🔴►【Today Match】!! ►)))) - ‘Highwaymen’ – Overdue Return of the Good Guys

Image
“ Bonnie and Clyde ” delivered rousing entertainment … but with a curious aftertaste. The 1967 film’s artistic bona fides are beyond significant debate. The way stars Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway glamorized real-life killers, who enjoyed massive support during their reign of terror, is another matter. “The Highwaymen” offers a belated elixir. The film, in select theaters before its Netflix debut, focuses on the Texas Rangers who brought down the Millennial-aged killers. This isn’t a white hat/black hat affair, though. Director John Lee Hancock (“The Blind Side”) traffics in gorgeous shades of gray, but he never loses sight of the story’s purpose – putting the focus where it rightly belonged all along. Kevin Costner stars as Frank Hamer, a retired Texas Ranger who spends his days helping his wife throw social soirees. Yes, he’s bored, but he senses it’s time for other heroes to save the day. That belief crumbles courtesy of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. The bodies of innoce...

LIVE 🔴►【Today Match】!! ►)))) - ‘Minty’ Short Turns Tubman into Action Heroine

Image
It’s a cinematic sin that Hollywood has yet to capture Harriet Tubman in a film all her own. Larger than life, heroic beyond words, Tubman worked as a “conductor” on the Underground Railroad. She personally led 300 slaves to freedom. Her life couldn’t be more tailor made for a big-budget feature. Later this year we’ll finally get a film depicting her amazing life. “Harriet,” directed by Kasi Lemmons, stars “Widows” standout Cynthia Erivo as the former slave turned freedom fighter. Filmmakers Kira Allen and James Lanka beat “Harriet” to the punch. The duo’s short film “ Minty ” reimagines Tubman as a Tarantino-esque spitfire. The film features Tanya Alexander as Minty, one of Tubman’s nicknames, helping a pair of slaves find freedom. It won’t be easy, of course. Slave masters are on their trail. The male slave (Kelcey Watson) is having second thoughts about leaving the security of his old “home.” Freedom isn’t easy, either, a message the short hammers home between some slic...

LIVE 🔴►【Today Match】!! ►)))) - Serious Star Power Serves ‘Best of Enemies’ Well

LIVE 🔴►【Today Match】!! ►)))) - Silly ‘Shazam’ (Mostly) Charms Our Inner Child

Image
We’ve come a long way from those dour DC Comics films. You know the type. “The Dark Knight” trilogy. “Man of Steel.” The unwatchable “Suicide Squad.” They pretended superhero movies were just for grown-ups. Dour, pessimistic grown-ups, to be precise. Yes, Christopher Nolan’s Bat trilogy is near genius, but it’s hardly catnip to the pre-teen set. “Shazam” shakes the DC Comics Etch-a-Sketch. Hard. This origin tale is a certified hoot with super powers thrown in for good measure. It’s hard to imagine any child not getting swept away by its goofy appeal. There are exceptions, though. Hardscrabble foster kid Billy Batson (Asher Angel) lands in a new home with some promise. He quickly bonds with his new step brother (Jack Dylan Grazer), a lad who requires crutches to get from place to place. When Billy sticks up for the disabled boy it draws the attention of a wizard (Djimon Hounsou) eager to bestow powers on a worthy soul. That one act of heroism qualifies, apparently. Now, when Bi...
